Families are invited to enjoy the holiday fun at Haymarket’s One Great Day event on Tuesday 17 July and help raise money for charity too.
Haymarket has organised the family event to fundraise for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People and Great Ormond Street Hospital. There will be lots of great entertainment and activities such as tombola, a sponsored cycle and facepainting.
A team of Haymarket’s staff and retailers will be attempting to cycle 200 miles on exercise bikes – the equivalent of the perimeter of Leicestershire – to raise more money. Shoppers can jump on the bikes and get peddling to help complete the target.
Bread and Butter’s synchronised swimming sensations the Van Dunk Brothers and quirky PE Teachers will be there making sure everyone joins in the games.
They will be joined Swank Street Theatre who will be on a Jolly Holiday with cheeky characters Big Mam and her daughter Dolly who will pose for seaside selfies with shoppers.
Youngsters can make a rainbow spinner at a craft workshop to take home. There will be fundraising facepainting. The Rainbow Girls, a pair of colourful stiltwalkers, will add vibrancy to the day.
The One Great Day initiative is a series of family and community charity events being held in shopping centres around the UK this month to raise money for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and other locally based children’s charities.
