As well as shopping for this year’s must-have toys and games, festive fashions and great value gifts of all kinds, Haymarket is also the place to find family fun this Christmas and to meet Santa in style.
Families are invited to Santa’s Saturdays on 2 and 9 December. All the activities are free but shoppers can make a donation to Haymarket’s chosen charity Rainbows Children’s Hospice if they wish.
Santa will arrive at noon to meet children and take last minute present requests. He will be doing walkabouts round the shopping centre throughout the afternoon.
On Saturday 2 December Father Christmas will be joined by Santa’s Big Helpers – two giant elves on bouncy stilts called Horace and Borace who will check which youngsters have been naughty or nice.
There will be walkabout called Snowbiz which features a cookie Snow Queen on her snowman-drawn chariot who will chase around Reggie the Robin. The cheeky robin will break into a boogie wherever they go, propelled by Christmas magic and the plenty of festive music.
Shoppers will be able to take ‘Elfie Selfies’ on a magic mirror and get a free print to take home.
On Saturday 9 December the Inflate-a-Belles will entertain youngsters with their festive balloon modelling. Making Santa and elf hats, candy canes, snowmen and lots more. Mr Scrooge and Mr Scratchit and their musical carriage will entertain shoppers with their renditions of Christmas hits.
There will be walkabouts from Lorraine Deer – a giant reindeer on stilts - and her elf and safety person.
Young children will love The Three Wise Hens Goldy, Franky and Mertyl. These lovely old mother hens will be giving out chocolate to youngsters.
There will be free festive facepainting on both days too.
